AquaRating offers the utilities an overall rating and detailed assessments of its various rating areas, an assessment of the reliability of the information provided, and orientations to improve management practices.

AquaRating's auditing procedures review and validate the information presented by the utilities, based on the documental proof provided and on the evidence gained in-situ.

AquaRating is administered by an independent entity hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the International Water Association (IWA).
